Go Daddy Introduces Low-Priced Hosting Plan

Wednesday, August 03, 2005
Individuals and businesses can host their Windows-based website with Go Daddy's 'Economy Plan for Windows', for $3.95/month.

Go Daddy, an accredited domain registrar, yesterday announced that it has added a low-priced, Windows-based hosting package, to its family of Windows and Linux web hosting plans. For $3.95/month, individuals and businesses can host their Windows-based website with Go Daddy's 'Economy Plan for Windows.'

Go Daddy claims that the Economy Plan for Windows hosting includes 500MB of disk space, 25GB of monthly band-width, 100 email accounts (each with spam, fraud and virus protection and 10 MB of storage), 50 email forwarding accounts, and database support. An additional cost savings of 20%/month is available for those who sign up for 12 months of Economy Plan for Windows hosting.

According to the company, the Economy Plan for Windows is supported by data centers which include multiple OC-48, OC-12 and OC-3 connections, a fast gigabit Ethernet backbone, and multiple diverse upstream providers totaling 4 Gbps of Tier-1 Internet bandwidth. In addition, the Economy Plan for Windows is supported by router, firewall and server equipment, full network redundancy, enterprise-class backup and restore technology, 24x7 monitoring and security.

"We developed and introduced a low-priced Windows hosting plan because our customers asked for it," said Bob Parsons, president & founder of Go Daddy. "Like all the hosting packages we have introduced over the years, the response has been tremendous."
